Aydın Adnan Menderes University (ADU) took part in the NAFSA 2026 Annual Conference & Expo, one of the world's most prestigious international higher education events, and held significant meetings aimed at strengthening its global academic collaborations.
The conference, held in Orlando, Florida, USA, between May 26–29, 2026, brought together higher education institutions from around the world. ADU was represented by Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent Kent, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal İyem, and Rector’s Advisor Prof. Dr. Fatih Mehmet Yılmaz.
As part of the “Study in Türkiye” Pavilion, organized under the coordination of the Turkish National Agency, ADU successfully promoted both Türkiye and the University on an international platform.
Throughout the conference, the ADU delegation conducted numerous meetings with universities and educational organizations from Europe, North America, South America, and Asia. Discussions focused on student and staff mobility, Erasmus+ programs, international research partnerships, joint academic projects, dual degree programs, and new institutional cooperation opportunities.
The delegation also met with university leaders, international relations professionals, and representatives of educational organizations from various countries to exchange views on the future of internationalization in higher education, sustainable academic partnerships, and global student mobility.
As a result of these meetings, important steps were taken to enhance existing collaborations, while substantial progress was achieved regarding new Erasmus+ agreements and institutional partnerships. To further expand international opportunities for students and academic staff, Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent Kent signed cooperation agreements with universities from different countries.
Emphasizing that NAFSA 2026 was highly productive in increasing the international visibility of the University and strengthening its presence within global academic networks, Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent Kent highlighted the strategic importance of internationalization in contemporary higher education.
Prof. Dr. Bülent Kent stated:

Participating in leading higher education platforms such as NAFSA not only enhances the international recognition of our University but also contributes significantly to the establishment of new academic collaborations. Through the meetings we held, we gained valuable opportunities to further strengthen our global cooperation network. We will continue our efforts with determination to provide more international opportunities for our students and academic staff.”
